Kurzfassung
The paper discusses work carried out in the STROMbegleitung project (funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research) and answers the following questions: - What are funding mechanisms and instruments in Germany considering electric mobility and different stakeholders? Funding programs, the distribution and the focus of funding (for example technology development, acceptance studies or fleets tests) will be analysed. - Which funding schemes are applied in the United States? The same analysis as above is carried out for the US market and a comparison to the German market is drawn from the results. - What is the state-of-the-art concerning key technologies for electric mobility and what are chances and challenges can be identified? In the focus are technologies covered by the project in the STROM funding program. These technologies comprise e.g. battery systems, electric machines, range extenders, lightweight materials and power electronics. Also the vehicle concept itself is part of the analysis.
