Kurzfassung
A model based on the Eulerian continuum approach was set up to describe the bulk flow and the thermal performance of a Moving Bed Heat Exchanger for CSP application. The experimental investigations indicate the model’s validity with respect to flow and thermal behaviour. It is concluded that, for a valid design of the MBHE, a proper consideration of all bulk properties is essential. The present model is therefore considered a solid basis for the development of a future design tool.
