Phase Centre Determination on the Basis of Far-Field Measurements

In this paper we investigate the phase centre variations of an antenna array used with a GNSS receiver for beamforming. For the determination of the carrier and code phase centres of the antenna array both simulated and measured far-field radiation characteristics of the array elements will be utilised. The theoretical approaches to the determination of the phase centre will be described. Also the specific issues which should be taken into account when working with the antenna field measurement data will be discussed. The measurement process will be shortly described and the main features of the facility (Fig. 1a) which are relevant to the phase centre determination will be outlined.
