Kurzfassung
The arc-heated wind tunnel LBK was reactivated in 1989 and its measurement technique was improved and modernized, in order to qualify materials for thermal protection systems of Hermes. A detailed study has been performed concerning the contamination of the flow field with electrode materials and satisfactory results havebeen achieved. All activities, main results of each test campaign and a list of submitted documents by DLR are included in this report.Modified components of the facility are mentioned in the last chapter of the report.
