Kurzfassung
Recently the method of phase gradient screen method has been proposed [1]. It represents a correction to the standard phase screen method, which describes the second-order correction with respect to the fluctuating part of the ionospheric refractive index. This correction is negligible for most scintillation conditions may become significant in the presence of strong ionospheric gradients. We use the phase gradient screen method to model high-latitude scintillation and scintillation associated with scattering on equatorial plasma bubble boundaries. We then use the modelled scintillation levels to investigate GNSS satellite availability. Specifically, we analyse GBAS performance studies at Tenerife Norte Airport under strong scintillation conditions.
