Kurzfassung
In the framework of UTD/PTD, diffraction coefficients of wedges serve as building blocks for constructing high-frequency solutions for complex scattering scenarios. Accounting for the wedge diffraction is necessary when describing wireless propagation in urban areas and inside buildings or radar cross section of objects with edges. The diffraction coefficients are derived from solutions of canonical problems in wedge-shaped domains. Simple and accurate solutions are available for PEC wedges but not for imperfectly reflecting, e.g. impedance, wedges. Exact solutions for the latter are still limited to a small number of special cases (half-plane, full-plane impedance junction, normal incidence, unit surface impedance); otherwise, time-consuming semi-numerical approaches have to be used. In engineering applications, however, there is a need for fast analytical approximations. This paper proposes a method for obtaining such approximations for diffraction coefficients of impedance wedges.
