Kurzfassung
This report is intended to estimate the effects of hydrogen combustion on SiC/SiC ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) in hot sections of liquid hydrogen (LH2) powered aero-engines. It additionally estimates the effects of LH2 on 3D printed SiSiC heat exchangers. The statements of this report based on literature study, DLR internal experience and some outlines of the conference H2MSE (March 2025, Siegburg, Germany). As mechanical modelling is a key to predict the life of CMC components, a particular attention is given to identify in-service mechanical properties.
