Kurzfassung
This lecture gives a historical and architectural overview of automated vehicles, including motivation, state-of-the-art, components, definitions, and regulation. In a further detailed part, fundamentals of pattern recognition and machine learning with neural networks are presented, together with validation and benchmark datasets for self-driving car perception. The presentation includes also latest research project examples from DLR, and, with regard to perception, risks and challenges of current and future activities in research and industry.
