Kurzfassung
The talk provides an informative look at how AMR addresses the computational challenges inherent in large-scale simulations (e.g., computational fluid dynamics, climate modeling) with a focus on visualization of big data-sets. AMR achieves efficiency by dynamically localizing resolution: refining the underlying mesh (grid) in regions demanding high detail (e.g., sharp gradients) and coarsening it in smoother areas. We present how to use t8code to produce different resolutions of the input data, which can be processed faster than the original data. The presentation aims to facilitate a technical exchange with industry professionals, showcasing the mechanisms and performance advantages of using t8code to solve computationally intensive problems.
