Kurzfassung
These slides were originally presented on July 22 2025 at the AIAA AVIATION Forum, where they formed the basis for a dedicated Special Session entitled "Meet The Turbulence Modelers". The intent of this session was to provide a framework to facilitate technical dialogue with specialists engaged in the measurement of turbulence ("Turbulence Measurers") in the context of progressing the state-of-the-art regarding CFD Validation. These slides were not developed to form a definitive resource or to provide a comprehensive critique or review of the current state-of-the-art of turbulence modeling. Rather, they were intended to provide an accessible introduction to some of the foundational concepts that could be used to stimulate dialogue at the conference. They are reproduced here (i) in response to the requests made by multiple people who attended the special session; and (ii) in recognition that many interested stakeholders were unable to attend the 2025 AIAA AVIATION Forum. The activities undertaken at this Forum were conceived as the first of a series of similar events, during which the technical dialogue would be refined and extended. This is the spirit in which these slides have been made available to you.
