Kurzfassung
This measurement campaign aims to support the development of reliable numerical simulations for smoke detection and smoke spread in aircraft cabins. Hereto, a smoke generator was tested under various operating conditions. To analyze both steady-state and transient conditions for the different operating modes of the generator, sensor-based and optical measurement techniques were used. Initially, detailed airflow measurements were conducted to characterize room air circulation under various conditions without smoke emission. Subsequently, the airflow generated solely by the heated generator was examined, and its influence on the room air circulation was assessed. In a last step, smoke statistics were captured.
