Kurzfassung
Deliverable D2.3 presents the technologies developed for Demonstrator which focused on passive safety improvements. It builds upon the Use-Cases refined in D2.1. Key developments include: Evaluation of design iterations for vehicle architecture and restraint systems that are tested against relevant load-cases to assess effectiveness and key performance criteria. Overview of the Urban Modular Vehicle Peoplemover (UMV PM) developed by DLR - with crash simulation results and occupant safety analysis. Enhancement of optimization tool of DLR (CS-OPT) which uses a validated surrogate model to optimize vehicle structure for improved crashworthiness. Investigation of seatbelt designs through sled tests using the ViVA+ 50F Human Body Model (HBM) to focus on inclusive safety for physically disabled occupants. Creation and release of disabled variants of ViVA+ 50F HBM and THOR AV 50M and 05F ATDs by Humanetics for broader occupant representation in safety system design. Demonstration of an adaptive restraint system integrating advanced belt systems and adaptive airbags from THI. Tested within UMV PM. Identification of further improvement areas for restraint systems - including adaptations for varying occupant sizes and orientations.
