Kurzfassung
The given report covers the testing and simulation of foam-supported omega stringers under 4-point bending load. The analyses were performed to assess and calibrate the modelling parameters to be used in a bird strike simulation. This simulation was applied for structural demonstrators incorporating Hybrid Laminar Flow Control (HLFC) technology. The specimens were tested under quasi-static load until failure, force versus displacement diagrams are acquired. The considered structural concepts of specimens were trapezoid-shaped stringers of closed-cell foam, these stringers overlaid with braided glass fibres, and segment cut-outs from a demonstrator. There, the foam stringers overlaid with braided glass fibres were sandwiched between the CFRP laminate and micro-perforated titanium sheet metal. The acquired force displacement diagrams were used to calibrate material models and modelling approaches at different structural scales starting from coupon to detail.
