Kurzfassung
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is without doubt the most promising solutions to the problem of obtaining secure cryptographic systems that cannot be broken even by an attacker with unlimited computational power. Satellite-based links are important in Quantum Key Distribution because they can reach distances that the best fiber systems cannot. In this picture then, it is of fundamental importance optimizing performances in order to make the technology implementable. This work improves the Information Reconciliation (i.e. the error correction phase) rates in the Decoy State BB84 protocol by accurately modeling a downlink signal of a complete satellite pass and extracting the information of the Quantum Bit Error Rate (QBER) instant by instant for using it in the Information Reconciliation phase.
