Kurzfassung
Space weather services, that monitor the performance of global navigation satellite systems and warn users of possible disturbances, are an important part of our modern infrastructure. Therefore continuous efforts are made to improve these services e.g. via post event analyses. The present study gives an overview of the X-class solar flare during 9th February 2024 and presents an approach to complement total electron content maps for a better representation of the flare impacts. Furthermore, the specific energy absorption profile of the flare in the upper atmosphere is discussed as well as the possibility to use the shape of the profile for assessing the flare impact on navigation and communication services.
