Kurzfassung
In an era of rapid technological advancement, ensuring the security of emerging technologies is paramount. However, the growing sophistication of cyber attackers poses a significant chal- lenge to keep safe from cyber-attacks. Cybersecurity testing plays a crucial role in identifying vulnerabilities and mitigating potential threats. Even after developing many advanced tools and technologies, the attackers find a way to gain unauthorized access by finding vulnerabilities in the software through various means. Hence, testing the applications to find the vulnerabilities is es- sential before launching or releasing them. This research work represents Cyber Security Testing on a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Spoofing Detector. By integrating the Behavior- Driven Development (BDD) methodology with the Aeronautical Radio Incorporated (ARINC 653) Hypervisor in an avionics environment, this study aims to enhance the detection and mitigation of spoofing attacks, a prominent threat in aviation. The BDD approach promotes effective commu- nication among testers, developers, and stakeholders, ensuring that the system meets its intended requirements. Employing BDD for acceptance testing significantly improves the reliability and ef- fectiveness of the GNSS spoofing detector in identifying potential threats. This research not only highlights the feasibility of applying BDD in cybersecurity testing within the avionics domain but also suggests broader implications for the security of emerging technologies against sophisticated cyber-attacks.
