Kurzfassung
The DLR FR8-LAB, a measurement-system equipped container has been used to take transient surface-pressure measurements on operational freight-trains. LiDAR sensors, satellite navigation and thermal cameras are used to couple the aerodynamic measurements with the operating scenarios. Transient characteristics have been identified, dependant on the operating scenario, and global transient-forces and moments on the container can be derived.
