Kurzfassung
The flow around and downstream of a delta is considered using numerical and experimental techniques. Different hybrid RANS/LES modelling approaches are applied and assessed. The focus is on the grey-area treatment of the transition from RANS mode to LES mode. On the one hand, wall-modelled LES is used with the interface from RANS to LES on the delta wing. On the other hand, a hybrid RANS/LES method is used for which the RANS/LES-interface is downstream of the delta wing in the wake flow region. The results are compared with a wall-resolved LES and with time-resolved PIV data.
