Kurzfassung
In order to meet the increasing end-user demand for space weather information in the navigation domain, the development of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)performance indicators within the ESA Space Weather Service Network is considered essential. A focused investigation of space weather-related impacts on satellite-based navigation technical systems and services has been conducted to address requirements in various user domains and related applications. The objective of the P3-SWE-XLII: Space Weather Impact on GNSS Performance Application Development (SWIGPAD) project is to design and develop an application that provides GNSS performance indicators based on existing datasets provided by a number of European research institutes on the ESA Space Weather Service Portal (available at https://swe.ssa.esa.int). The SWIGPAD application provides users access to information about current and expected space weather impacts on positioning at their specific location. It also enables end users of the various GNSS application domains to easily view the estimated impact on positioning via a numerical and graphical representation of the current ionospheric conditions, as well as their evolution over time. We present the project results and provide information on how to access and use the SWIGPAD application.
