Kurzfassung
Quantum computation is going through an exciting period of time. While the long-term goal for the coming decades are fault-tolerant quantum devices, noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) computers are already available today. To achieve quantum advantage with these devices, it is necessary to concurrently advance hardware platforms, algorithmic advances and software implementations. In Hardware-Software-Codesign, quantum algorithms and their compilers are tailored to the specifications of the available hardware while the development of the hardware is adjusted towards the requirements of the algorithms and their real-world applications. In this presentation, we will discuss the DLR approach towards Hardware-Software-Codesign in order to achieve a quantum advantage on a variety of different near-term quantum devices.
