Kurzfassung
DLR's transponders are used to precisely calibrate and continuously monitor SAR systems. An innovative broadband X-band transponder has been developed, set up and calibrated. It is operated at DLR's test facilities and frequent overpasses have been acquired using the TSX and TDX satellites. These overpasses have been used for testing purposes as well as for ongoing optimization and verification of the transponder's performance. Based on the corresponding SAR data takes as well as measurement data recorded by the transponder, various test scenarios relating to polarization issues, digital processing and the transponder's stability have been realized and some of these results are presented.
