Kurzfassung
Three different approaches for reducing the required spatial resolution for hybrid RANS-LES, namely embedded wall-modelled LES, wall functions and local grid adaptation, are assessed in aeronautical flows up to industrial complexity. While the possible grid-point reduction at a given accuracy varies among the cases and methods, all approaches show potential to increase the efficiency of HRLM.
