Kurzfassung
Closed-loop simulations are mainly used in the later parts of the development process, i.e. in the area of integration and testing of subsystems or the overall vehicle system, validation of the overall system, and final acceptance tests. The associated simulation tasks present a variety of challenges and can be related to different phases of the development of an automation function or a sensor set-up definition for highly automated driving. This presentation shall show the approach of the Open Source Toolchain for Automotive Research (OSTAR) and the related closed-loop simulation use cases. The framework intends to provide an easily accessible, modular simulation tool for different testing purposes, ranging from evaluating a development version of a highly automated driving function, its validation, the comparison of reference open source sensor models to specific sensor models, a general scenario exploration for the identification of corner cases and highly critical situations or the standard compatibility of utilized simulation models. The technical aspects of the framework will be explained in the context of the different use cases and simulation results will be presented.
