Kurzfassung
The presented work focuses on the fast and fully automatic generation of refined hi-fidelity fuselage section models for ditching simulations in the pre-design process chain. The generation of representative pools is considered, allowing also further options in addition to the mainly used particles approach. Comparisons of exemplary water impact simulations are conducted with different mesh representations and analyzed in terms of results quality, performance and model handling. Finally, the results of the modelling and ditching evaluation studies lead to a full aircraft ditching simulation with a locally adapted structural mesh in the lower shell to enable a detailed analysis of local deformations as well as the forces transferred from the water into the flexible aircraft structure.
