Kurzfassung
This paper presents a solution for an HDL-based, highly performant multi-channel Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) receiver and its evaluation results. These results are compared to a previous software-based embedded GNURadio approach. The receiver is implemented on an integrated software-defined radio platform for space application. Compared to the purely software-based GNURadio proof-of-concept, the new method improves especially with respect to processing speed and efficiency. This approach for the first time demonstrates true quad-channel ADS-B detection in real-time with no notable message losses, and promises a feasible application of ADS-B surveillance on small satellites.
