Kurzfassung
A recently developed gamma-based transition transport model is coupled to the widely used Negative Spalart-Allmaras (SA-neg) turbulence model. The DLR gamma model is a local correlation-based transition transport model suitable for unstructured Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes solvers that was calibrated based on compressible linear stability theory and considers pressure gradient effects on the laminar boundary layer. The coupling strategy involves a modification to the laminar suppression term of the SA-neg turbulence model and the implementation of an auxiliary production term. A detailed description of the DLR gamma model and the coupling strategy is presented, as well as its validation for a wide range two- and three-dimensional benchmark test cases.
