Kurzfassung
Assessments about the quality, reliability, and trustworthiness of data used and generated by mission critical software systems are important. The Backbone Catalogue for Relational Debris information (BACARDI) provides a database related to orbit information about active and inactive objects in Earth orbit. BACARDI exports data products which are used in mission planning and to provide collision warnings. The criticality of these products highlights the importance of identifying invalid data. Additionally, legal frameworks necessitate clear attribution of data to its original contributors. These demands can be addressed by collecting and providing provenance information about the processed data. In this talk, we present our provenance model and describe how it is integrated into the BACARDI system, making the software provenance-aware. Therefore, we show how the provenance model was tailored to specific use cases, to allow for efficient graph database queries. Additionally, we present how reusability and compatibility with other models is achieved through the W3C PROV standard. Finally, we outline a highly scaleable provenance recording architecture intended to be used with our provenance model.
