Kurzfassung
The High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) has been developed originally for the exploration of Mars by the international space mission Mars96. Over the last years, a modified camera was successfully applied for Earth observation in several aircraft campaigns. The results and products which have been derived from these experiments demonstrate its unique potential which is based on the high technological standard of the camera.Together with the high-end GPS/INS system of Applanix Corporation, whic provides high accurate position and pointing during the flight, image and 3D-products with relative accuracies of about 10-15 cm and absolute accuracies of about 20-25 cm can be achieved from a flight altitude of 3,000 m. In combination with the photogrammetric software processing system it is the world's first fully automated digital multispectral and high resolution image acquisition and 3D-processing system, ready for use in a new era of photogrammetry.
