Kurzfassung
PEMFC can be used in combination with different energy storage system (ESS) such as batteries of capacitors. This combination could reduce the performances demand to the PEMFC. The resulting hybrid system uses the PEMFC as primary power source while the ESS is used to compensate the PEMFC slow dynamic. An adequate ESS is able to provide a faster response to a power demand than a PEMFC system. A suitable power splitting strategy between the two system can be used to minimize challenging operating conditions in the PEMFC subsystem.
