Kurzfassung
One of the main tasks of the Aeolus data innovation and science cluster (DISC) is the long-term monitoring and validation of the atmospheric Laser Doppler instrument (ALADIN) performance. Among other instrument parameters, it involves also the evolution of the measured atmospheric backscattering and solar background signals. In the current contribution, results of the long-term - ranging from the first Aeolus measurements in the beginning of September 2018 after launch on 22.08.2018 up to now - and short-term monitoring of the L1B solar background and Rayleigh useful signals are presented and discussed. An overview of the applied tools including some background information are also given. Furthermore, the relation to other instrument parameters like the laser infrared and UV emit energy is shown. Comparisons with results, obtained by the ADM-Aeolus End-To-End Simulator (E2S), are also provided.
