Kurzfassung
The accurate determination of the surface heat flux for vehicles moving at hypersonic speeds is essential for the development of the thermal protecting systems. In order to investigate the capabilities of ultra-fast temperature sensitive paint for high enthalpy hypersonic flows application, a laser based calibration facility was constructed. Time response calibrations were performed and response time constants determined for different thicknesses of paints. This presentation introduces the calibration facility and shows recent results
