Kurzfassung
This talk introduces the RegMex project, which aims at improving the transparency and robustness of model-based energy system analysis. The project focuses on a transparent and comparable description of different energy system models, as well as the framework assumptions, scenarios and basic parameters. In order to achieve a higher comparability both within the project and beyond, for all these aspects data tables, model templates and scenario documentation are developed. Within the project, two model experiments are performed, using the models of the project partners, but also of external research groups. By comparing the results of different models, the robustness of conclusions concerning the energy system transformation in Germany can be enhanced, as well as the ability to evaluate scenarios considering selected disruptive developments. The model experiments focus on the identification of cost-effective technology deployment strategies in the power, heating and transport system on the one hand, and the least-cost infrastructure implementation in the power supply system and its linkages to the heating and transport sector on the other.
