Kurzfassung
The perceived mental workload of rail signallers was assessed during three experimental scenarios in a simulated work environment using NASA TLX and ASWAT. Results indicate that a translation of ASWAT can be used to measure the mental workload of signallers in the German railway system. In the future, this will allow the comparison of signaller workload cross-culturally, enabling the comparison of e.g. different operational systems and their impact on workload.
