Porous injectors operated with the cryogenic propellant combination LOX/H2 exhibit very limited sensitivity towards changes in injection conditions regarding the observed combustion performance. The interaction of the high-inertia LOX jets and the accelerating combustion gases has been identi ed as a possible dominating parameter of atomization. A test campaign investigating the impact of the nal velocity of the combustion gases in the combustion chamber has been performed. Three di erent nozzle diameters were used to achieve chamber Mach numbers ranging from 0.19 to 0.312. Over a pressure range of 30 to 100 bar combustion efficiencies in excess of 97.5% were measured. No significant dependency on chamber Mach number was observed.
