Abstract

We describe the functional description for the OPTIMAL Arrival Management Tools. As input to this document the procedure definitions and requirements from OPTIMAL WP2, the operational concept from OPTIMAL WP1, and the preliminary specifications for ground functions from OPTIMAL WP5.1 are used. The functional description includes the construction of the logical model, which is an abstract description of what the Arrival Management Tools must do. Furthermore, a detailed specification of the tool requirements is given, which mainly consists of functional requirements. The output of the functional description document will be an input to the OPTIMAL WP6.1 Validation Specification, and to the OPTIMAL WP5.4 Development and Verification Tasks.
