Abstract
An approach is suggested that can assist in the development of vibration absorbers. It is based on electronically controlling an electromagnetic proof-mass actuator such that it reproduces the behavior of a conventional vibration absorber. The characteristics of this vibration absorber can then be changed without modifying the hardware. A digital black-box control approach is discussed and experimental results are presented.
