Abstract

The fluid-dynamical processes taking place downstream of turbine inlet guide vanes with coolant ejection in the trailing edge area were investigated. The decay of pressure gradients as well as the interference between and the mixing of the coolant jet and the wake behind the blade were of interest. Two types of trailing edge coolant configurations were tested in a plane cascade wind tunnel: 1.pressure side coolant ejection near the trailing edge 2. coolant ejection through the trailing edge.
