Abstract

Based on user requirements for image performance and rapid change of operational modes, a concept is proposed which involves active phased array antennas for L-, C- and X-band. This SAR system will offer immediate switching of parameters, e.g. incidence angle, selection of swath width and resolution. In the presentation, the major operational modes and some technological aspects will be described for the X-band SAR.
