The topic of the paper is the adaptation of air borne remote sensing in transportation. It describes two systems for traffic data collection for different uses. All applications require real-time derivation of traffic flow parameters and this paper illustrates the approaches in hard and software for fulfilling these demands. It shows detailed information for online georeferencing, real-time pattern recognition, speed measurement and car classification. The results will be shown and discussed. In a short outlook a different approach is outlined and necessary enhancements are shortly described.
