Abstract

A comparative study for the determination of elasto-plastic and fatigue parameters of a typical combustion chamber maaterial with different test sample geometries is presented. A set of three different test sample geometries is suggested for the determination of elasto-plastic parameters, such as yield stress and hardening parameters. The same number of different test sample geometries are presented for the determination of the number of cycles until failure for the low cycle fatigue of the tested material. Advantages, disadvantages, and the test rangae of the different sample geometries are pointed out. A comparison of the results of the experiments with different test sample geometries is made. Results of Finite Element calculations are shown, performed in order to - design the geometry of one of the test samples - identify material parameters for one of the experiments, which is not suitable for a direct identification of the material parameters.
