Abstract

This work package presents a summary of the results of work package 13 100 first. Based on these consideration and on further studies we suggest the following algorithms for on-board data compression: the extended BAQ and the BAVQ for SAR raw data compression, the VQ, JPEG and WVT+VQ for SAR image compression. Data flow and performance of the preferred algorithms are described. A brief overview of the main advantages and disadvantages concludes the work package.
