Abstract

A thorough ro-vibrational analysis of the hybrid (A- and B-type) nu_2 bands of 35ClONO2 and 37ClONO2 has been carried out using a high-resolution (0.0009 cm-1) Fourier transform spectrum recorded at 190 K. Unlike previously studied infrared bands, weak PP- and RR-branch series were observed. From these transitions, very high Ka upper-state energy levels were obtained which permitted a satisfactory modelling of the strong Q-branch at about 1292.5 cm-1. Accurate upper-state constants have been derived for all bands including the following band centres: nu_0 (nu_2) 1292.83690(40) cm-1 and nu_0 (nu_2) 1293.20801(50) cm-1 for the 35Cl and 37Cl isotopomers respectively.
