Abstract

Inflight degradation of GOME can be monitored by means of different observation modes. Out focus is the impact of observed degradation on calibrated Earthe albedos and on polarisation. The degradation of fractional polarisation in channel 2 is here reported for the first time. No evidence for degradation is found for the solar calibration unit. This conclusion allows for a significant improvement of Earth albedos in channel 2.
