Interferometric DEMs in Rugged Terrain

Eineder, Michael (2001) Interferometric DEMs in Rugged Terrain. In: Proceedings of IGARSS'2001. IGARSS'2001, Sydney.

Interferometric DEMs in steep mountains are a challenge even for high coherent single pass sensors like SRTM. This work compares shadow and lay-over problems for SRTM and ERS and shows how multiple interferometric observations could be used to compute a consistent DEM of an alpine region.
