Abstract

This study analyzes two different alternatives to designate the taxiways of a newly build airport. These two different layouts are named X and Y in the following. The aim of this study is to determine which proposal is more intuitive and therefore easier to remember. An empirical study was designed and executed with two groups of pilots from different airlines.
