The report describes a subjective evaluation methodology of wake vortex encounters and possibly atmospheric disturbances in general. Based on the pilot disturbance rating state-of-the-art a matrix style rating scale has been developed and refined specifically for the purpose to evaluate atmospheric disturbances like wake turbulence. The experience and pilot feed-back from several pilot-in-the-loop trials has been considered. The final version is designed to be applicable to all flight phases. It has also been successfully applied already for several simulator and flight test campaigns.
