Metamaterial (MTM) technologies enable the design of radar absorbing coatings which are electrically thin and tailored to a desired frequency band. The coatings are typically designed to minimize reflection from a flat infinite surface. In practical applications, however, the coatings are applied to finite and possibly curved scattering surfaces. In this study we have evaluated the performance of a MTM coating in reduction of mono- and bistatic scattering cross sections of electrically large metallic cube and cylinder.
