Abstract

In this paper, we present results of an ongoing project dealing with a smart DBF satellite terminal in Ka-band. The objective of the first part of this study was to investigate systems, concepts and technologies foe active DBF terminal antennas operating with future broadband satellite systems. The results are now being used as a basis to develop and realize a DBF terminal demonstrator capability. The availability of this technology is an important condition for the implementation of communivation systems using high-altitude platforms (HAPS).
