The placement of second year at the ENSIAME was run within the German Aerospace Center, DLR, in the department Thermal Process Technology of the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics. Initially, measurement data of a test storage system for direct steam generation solar thermal power plants should have been collected in Carboneras, Spain. But commissioning of the test loop is delayed and the test have not been started yet. This system consists of a latent heat storage for the evaporation / condensation of the water and a concrete sensible heat storage for the superheating / cooling of the steam. My placement is still based on this coupled system. Indeed it was divided into two parts; on one hand it is the evaluation of data, collected from a concrete heat storage, with the help of MATLAB. The objectives were to calculate the power, the amount of heat stored into the storage module and to carry out energy balances with the values of temperature, pressure and flow. On the other hand are laboratory researches connected to the latent heat storage; the aim was to measure phase diagrams of mixtures composed of nitrate and chloride salts, which could be used as storage mediumin a latent heat storage module.
