Abstract

In this paper, the sensitivity of backscattering intensity at P-band to forest biomass is investigated. In addition to the polarimetric channels HV and HH, the relation between biomass and the volume and dihedral components derived from polarimetric decomposition is analyzed with respect to viewing angles and acquisition dates. Inversion performance is determined by inventory biomass measurements for two boreal test sites.
